Pushkareva, E.T. The Image of the Universe in the Folklore of the Nenets: Systematic and Phe¬no-me¬nological Analysis / Elena T. Pushkareva ; English translation from Russian by Ksenia V. Durova. The book examines folklore materials, such as examples of epics (syudbabts, syudbabtsarka, ya¬rabts, yarabtsarka, khynabts and lakhanako), both sung and chanted (performed in recitative form), gathered on the territory of the contemporary Nenets, Yamalo-Nenets, Taimyr (Dolgan-Nenets) Au¬to¬nomous Okrugs and of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Yugra. The analysis of the folk¬lore publications from different years, and also of the author’s personal field notes, is done in accor¬dance with real worldview beliefs of the profane world and the knowledge of the people from the circle of the “dedicated” and the “initiated” (the shamans and those persons close to them). The research focuses on eliciting the picture of the world, the descriptions of the cosmos and its inhabitants, represented in folklore on the one hand, and in the worldview of our contemporaries on the other. The work introduces new materials on the sphere of the sacred (rituals using a tambourine) and on the ordinary tradition of the Nenets, tied to the sacred knowledge (the khasavadyova pheno¬menon; the dwelling as an embodiment of the sacred cosmos). It also offers an analysis of unique perceptions of the living word, reflected in folklore. The appendix consists of two epic texts in Nenets and Russian. This should allow the reader to enter the world of the folklore imagination of the Nenets people. The monograph is richly illustrated with photos from the author’s collection. The book is meant for folklorists, ethnographers, historians, archaeologists, students in hu¬ma¬ni¬ties, as well as anyone interested in the spiritual culture of the peoples of the North. Картина мира в фольклоре ненцев: системно-феноменологический анализВ книге рассматриваются фольклорные материалы – образцы песенного и песенно-прозаического (речитативно исполняемого) эпоса (сюдбабц, сюдбабцарка, ярабц, ярабцарка, хынабц и лаханако), собранные на территории современных Ненецкого, Ямало-Ненецкого, Таймырского (Долгано-Ненецкого) автономных округов и Ханты-Мансийского автономного округа–Югры. Фольклорные публикации разных лет, а также собственные полевые записи автора анализируются в соотноше¬нии с реальными мировоззренческими представлениями профанного мира и знаниями людей круга «посвященных» и «приобщенных» (шаманов и близких им лиц). Исследование сфокусировано на выявлении картины мира – описаниях Вселенной и ее обитателей – представленных, с одной сторо¬ны, в фольклоре, с другой – в мировоззрении наших современников.В работе отображены новые материалы сакральной сферы (ритуалы с бубном) и бытовой тради¬ции ненцев, сопряженной со священными знаниями (феномен хасавадёва; жилище как воплощение Сакральной Вселенной), предложен анализ уникальных представлений о живом Слове, отраженных в произведениях фольклора.В приложении даны два эпических текста на ненецком и русском языках. Это позволит читате¬лю войти в мир фольклорной фантазии ненцев. Монография иллюстрирована фотографиями из собрания автора.
